This short animated video from PHA Canada looks inside the heart and lungs and explains how blood flows between the two and what goes wrong when a person has pulmonary hypertension (PH).

The diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension differs between countries, a study finds.

The film discusses the role of the right ventricle, the pulmonary arteries, and the lungs and compares those of a healthy person and one who has pulmonary hypertension. It describes how the smaller pulmonary arteries in the lungs become narrower and stiffer in patients with PH causing problems with blood flow, which in turn leads to an increase in blood pressure in the lungs known as high “pulmonary artery pressure” or PAP.
