This video from PHA Canada is an episode of the PH Counsellor Web Seminar Series called The Stress Tree. Pulmonary hypertension counselor Alyson Quinn encourages PH patients to draw their own stress tree, where the branches of the tree represent something in their life which causes them stress or anxiety relating to their pulmonary hypertension and then say which emotion each branch evokes.
She then asks the patients to think about the way that each of these branches can be healed, by setting down roots. Suggestions for healing roots include breathing exercises, meditation, exercise, and creative pursuits and by taking time out to do these things you can help to manage the symptoms of your pulmonary hypertension and improve your quality of life.
