  • How do you speak up for yourself in medical settings?

When diagnosed with PH and/or receive a transplant, many specialists are often added to your medical team. Hopefully, they all give you excellent care. But do you have a favorite doctor or two?

I hope you do! But don’t forget that they are human too. They have lots of patients to prioritize. They might not remember every detail of your medical history. As well as they might know you, they aren’t mind readers, so remember you still need to speak up when something might be getting missed. Appreciate your good doctor, but don’t slack off on self-advocacy.

Do you ever catch yourself being a little too lax during visits with your favorite doctors? Has this ever turned into a problem where something was missed because you were leaving your care completely up to the doctor? Please share your experience.
