For patients living with pulmonary hypertension (PH) who are not responding to treatment and whose condition is getting progressively worse, a lung transplant or a heart and lung transplant may be an option. A successful transplant can significantly improve a PH patient’s quality of life and extend their life expectancy, however, transplant patients run the risk of rejection and will need to take anti-rejection medication for life.
