    Hi all,
One of our members posted this update and wanted to relay his message. He is wondering, “Is there anyone or any information available, that shows there is a link to high level exposure to FORMALDEHYDE and PAH, i have found documents that show there is a definite link to Formaldehyde and A.L.S, but still searching for anything on Formaldehyde and PAH.” If there is any research on this or personal experience please reply.

    He also introduces himself here:
“Thank you for admitting me to this forum. For this this post i will tell you about myself, and my story. Well, where do i start, I am 53 years old, and was fully diagnosed with I.P.A.H at 50, when diagnosed, i was still working and being a self employed Funeral Director which was a 24 hour 7 day a week kind of lifestyle, but to be honest it loved the job and being of service to others so i didn’t mind. I originally was presenting at my local doctors for about a year before diagnosis with what i thought was just getting old and a bad flu that seemed to persist all the time causing me shortness of breath. It took about that year of different doctors and different opinions to finally get to a hospital in Brisbane and get diagnosed with Idiopathic PAH along with severe right heart failure. In a nutshell, i was in a very bad way, i was made to stop work, and given a very short life expectancy (about 6 months). luckily for me the combined medications worked, and low and behold, here i still am 3 years later.
I am lucky to be a Australian, we have a very good Public health system, which is been able to save my life, and even has specialist PAH centers in some areas, and luckily for me there is one in Brisbane of which i am in there care.
My life has changed dramatically because of PAH, I am lucky to have the support and fellowship of not only this group, but also the Australian sites and groups which have made this journey bearable, my thanks to you all.
I do have one question though, and because i have Idiopathic PAH and even had a DNA testing done to find if there was a genetic reason for the I.P..AH, so this question is to try to put my mind at rest as to why i have I.P.A.H.
The question is this, Is there anyone or any information available, that shows there is a link to high level exposure to FORMALDEHYDE and PAH, i have found documents that show there is a definite link to Formaldehyde and A.L.S, but still searching for anything on Formaldehyde and PAH. if anyone can shed some light, that would be great.
Anyway, enough ramblings from me, hope you are all well and breathing easy. Regards from Down Under, john v”
