Is It PTSD or CTSD?

      A PH mom shared this article. I’ll admit that I felt defensive as I started reading because…”Of course I have PTSD”. Then I kept reading and agreed with the point being made.

      When you are a loved one/caregiver to someone with a chronic illness the struggles, fears and emotions are endless. As the article states, “You see, we never get to “post” portion of PTSD when living with a special needs child. It’s chronic because it is continuous.”

      I think Chronic Traumatic Stress Disorder (CTSD) sounds more like what I experience. What about you? What are your thoughts about this article? Do you have PTSD or CTSD?
