Were you treated with the chemo treatment, gemcitabine?
A recent article by our PH News team highlights a surprising finding: a common chemotherapy treatment, gemcitabine, might lead to PAH. While this was a small study, it suggests healthcare providers should stay extra vigilant when monitoring cancer patients on this treatment.
This caught my attention because we’ve discussed how some of you, who have bravely battled cancer, now face PH. Here are some cancers this chemo treatment in question is used for:- Breast cancer
- Non-small cell lung cancer
- Ovarian cancer
- Pancreatic cancer

It’s definitely concerning to see a link between chemo and PAH. It makes sense that doctors need to keep a close eye on patients undergoing treatment.

Hi, @alex616 most definitely; it’s great when the doctors are aware of this and watch PAH patients closely. Have you had any chemo in the past that concerns you?
