Our responsibilities as caregiver can shift as time goes by. For me it is because my son transitioned from pediatric to adult care. Sometimes it’s depended on how well or not he is doing. Available transportation can play a part and so can so can just every day life experiences.

How has caregiving changed over time for you? How do you handle change as a caregiver?

My recent column, “It Takes All Types To Be Caregiver” was inspired by this topic.

It sounds like the setup to a joke – A director, a socializer, a thinker and a supporter walk into a hospital…but it’s not about four people, it’s about one and it’s not a joke.

What strengths did you go into caregiving with and what strengths developed over time? Do you agree that it takes all types to be a caregiver?
