PH and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Post-traumatic stress disorder is defined as “a mental health condition that’s triggered by a terrifying event.” Many with chronic illness and pulmonary hypertension suffer from PTSD, including Brittany Foster. The surgeries, emergency room visits, hospital stays, and times she thought she wouldn’t make it have left Brittany with lasting damage in the form of trauma, and now she experiences PTSD and avoidance.
