This video from University of Iowa Health Care is all about Karla Starckovich from Parnell, Iowa.

Find out some of the reasons why people can develop pulmonary hypertension here.

Karla actually works in the heart and vascular center of the hospital, but one day she walked into work feeling very short of breath and unable to walk more than a few steps without having to stop and rest. After having heart catheterization on both sides of her heart and a PET scan she found out that she had pulmonary hypertension (PH).

Karla was enrolled in a clinical trial for two different drugs to help manage her pulmonary hypertension and luckily for her, the trial has been a success. She is now back at work and living well.
