Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a rare lung disorder that causes constricting and clogging of the pulmonary arteries that are used to conduct blood from the heart to the lungs. Since the disease causes difficulties for the heart to properly pump the blood, the organ needs to work under stress and becomes enlarged and weakened. In the long-term, patients with pulmonary hypertension are at higher risk of suffering right heart failure and other fatal problems.
