Pulmonary Hypertension: Charity’s Double Lung Transplant

This is Charity. Charity was an opera singer when she was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Hypertension, also known as PH. “You will never sing again. You have to stop singing, those high notes are going to kill you”, her doctor told her. But the soprano did not give up and kept on singing and fighting. Charity Tillemann-Dick tells us a double survival story — the survival of her body, with a double lung transplant, and the survival of her spirit, fed by the will of singing. A really powerful story told in TED 2010.
