Caregiver Arthur Shares His Wife’s Pulmonary Hypertension Journey


In this touching video from the Temple Hospital, we meet Arthur. Arthur is a caregiver to his wife, Tommie, who has had pulmonary hypertension for 10 years.

Dr. Scott McFarland talks about the new treatments and options available to people who have pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Arthur explains that Tommie began to get coughing spasms and suffer from shortness of breath. Her primary care doctor referred her to the Temple Hospital Lung Center where after several tests, she was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. Arthur shares how the oxygen treatment his wife is on has given her some independence and how much treatments and medications have advanced. Even after being told that PH was incurable, his wife is still enjoying life and getting to see her grandchildren grow up.
