TAF Offering Copay Assistance for PH Treatments to Eligible Patients Across US
Eligible pulmonary hypertension patients could gain access to financial assistance in paying for PH therapies approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under a newly opened copay assistance program set up by The Assistance Fund (TAF).
TAF is an independent charitable organization based in Florida. Started in 2009 for patients and families struggling to afford necessary medicines, it continues to help to offset health-related expenses not covered by insurance, including copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance.
“At the Assistance Fund, we know that getting the best possible treatment for pulmonary hypertension is absolutely key, but high copays can make recommended treatments prohibitively costly to the patient. It’s our goal to help all individuals access the treatments they need no matter their ability to pay,” Mark P. McGreevy, president and CEO of TAF, said in a press release.
PH is a chronic lung disease caused by a rise in arterial blood pressure that restricts blood flow to the lungs, and approved treatments help to manage its symptoms and aim to slow disease progression. But life-long treatment may be needed, putting a considerable burden on patients with limited income.

TAF’s copay program can be accessed by completing an online application form that determines patient eligibility.
If referred by a physician, TAF can also provide conditional medication approval for 30 days. During this period, the patient’s pharmacy can dispense the medication and bill TAF. For continued assistance, patients will need to complete the online application.
Funds are available on a yearly basis, and applications need to be submitted for renewal each year. Financial support is contingent upon the availability of funds in the program.
More information about the program and eligibility requirements can be found on TAF’s website.
TAF also invites pharmacy, hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers to join them in assisting patients by informing them about this resource. Providers can access information about the different resources using this link.
With the addition of this PH copay assistance program, TAF now offers copay assistance in more than 50 areas, covering a range of serious and chronic diseases. Since 2009, TAF has helped over 78,000 adults and children with chronic diseases gain access to the medicines they need.
