In the U.K. there are approximately 7,000 people who suffer from pulmonary hypertension. In this video from the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, consultant Dr. Benji Schreiber describes the chronic lung disease for people who have been recently diagnosed.

Schreiber explains exactly what pulmonary hypertension (PH) is, the effects it has on the lungs and right side of the heart, the possible causes of the disease, the prognosis, the diagnostic tests required, and available treatments for the condition. He shares information about current clinical trials that are helping to improve treatments and medications for PH, as well as helping scientists to better understand the disease in the hope that one day a cure may be found.
