In this video from PH Austria, Maleen Fischer talks about life with the chronic lung disease, pulmonary hypertension and what she hopes for the future.

Find out about the five main groups of pulmonary hypertension.

Despite having PH, Maleen has a very positive attitude. She tries to live in the present and not dwell too much on what might happen in the future—though she certainly hopes that in five years’ time there will be a cure for PH, and if not a cure, at least better treatments and medications. She hopes by then she’ll be able to go about her daily life without having to take her oxygen compressor with her.

Maleen acknowledges that because of her PH she won’t ever be a competitive athlete or professional ballet dancer, but she isn’t going to let PH stop her from pursuing her academic dreams.
