When I am feeling particularly stressed, especially with an upcoming surgery, I like to distract my mind and keep my thoughts from running wild. I am so thankful for Netflix and shows that allow me to binge watch for hours at a time. I am almost done with the new series “You” after reading the book while in the hospital. I have only a few more episodes left of it. Some of my favorite shows to watch and REWATCH over and over again are: Grey’s Anatomy and One Tree Hill. I have watched all seasons multiple times and still cry and if I’m watching it for the first time.

Do you like to binge watch shows when you need a distraction? What are some of your favorites? Do you have any new series that you would recommend and that I can add to my “to watch” list for later?

Outlander! I recomend reading the books first, with that you’ll have quite some time because this year will be released the 9th one plus other books related to that serie.
Now, the fourth book is on TV (fourth season) and I think the whole season it’s available in amazon prime, Movistar plus (in Spain) and starz in USA.

My sister loved reading the Outlander series! I’ll have to tell her it’s now a TV series. I watched a lot of TV shows when I had PH, but less so now that I have the energy to read books instead during my (rare) down time.

@brittany-foster How I Met Your Mother has hours of entertainment if you haven’t tried it yet. One of my all-time favorites is Parks and Recreation.

I haven’t seen Parks and Rec but I heard it’s great! I love a funny show. I loved The Office and all their personalities just kept me entertained and laughing ! Definitely is good for the soul to watch something you can laugh at!

      Teresa,
Thank you so much for the suggestion! I love books that are being turned into series because it gives me a lot to do when I feel like I have to read it first before watching it! I read all the Gossip Girl books before the series came out when I was younger and always got so nerdy when comparing them with one another hahahaha! I’ll have to check out this book and show series for sure !

I heard good things about that one! I have to add to my “watch” list. Usually my boyfriend and I have a hard time deciding on a show together. But he usually will cave to make me happy and watch This Is Us with me

Hi @terraleigh1993, here’s an older post that you can share your favorite “binge-worthy” shows. I love your self-care routine of the spray tan, pizza, and shows; Now, I would probably add a glass of wine or something to mine. Hehe

It’s Friday and I’m running out of shows to watch so I thought it would be fun to revisit this topic. What are your favorite binge worthy shows to watch?

Hi @Colleen, you and me, both. I’ve been watching old reruns. I wish I knew of some new ones that old others enjoy, too. It’s also a great time to take a break indoors in the A/C when the temperatures become too hot.

What are some binge-worthy cool-off shows? Funny, Drama, Murder Mystery, or maybe a fascinating Documentary is always good.

@jen-cueva , my friend Janet recommended “The Night Agent” on Netflix. I was instantly hooked! I recommended it to Cullen and he gently informed me that Brian had recommended it to him and Aidan. Apparently Brian was watching it in the hospital and it was the last show he watched. As depressing as that sounds I like knowing what he was watching and that I enjoyed it too.

@Colleen, I’ll have to check out The Night Agent on Netflix. Knowing that Brian enjoyed it and suggested it to the boys warms my heart. But, how ironic, too, that Janet, your friend, told you about it.

I will check it out this week sometime. Does anyone else have anything they are binging lately?

These are two of my favorite binge-worthy shows on Netflix: “After Life” and “Fisk.” I will warn you that “After Life” was created/written/etc. by Ricky Gervais, so if bad language bothers you, you may not want to watch it. However, it is such a sensitive, yet funny, show. I would find myself on the brink of tears because of some of the touching scenes, and then laughing the next minute. Ricky has such a gift for touching our emotions rather deeply. The show, “Fisk” is just pretty much a funny Australian 30-minute show/series that follows a lawyer with little social skills who works at a law office that specializes in wills and trusts. Quite good and the characters are very quirky.

Hi, @Joan Strosin. I am watching some of the “Fisk” episodes and enjoying the comedy there, so thanks. I’ll have to check out the titles you and others mentioned soon.

If anyone was a fan of Breaking Bad, you may enjoy “Thy Honor” on Netflix. Brain Cranston from Breaking Bad is on this one, too. It’s full of suspense so far. It’s only two seasons. I’m only on the first season but was feeling my eyes get heavy so had my hubby, Manny stop it last night. I didn’t want to miss anything!

Recently, a friend told me about a funny show she enjoyed on Netflix a few months ago. So I looked it up, and Manny and I watched and finished the series.

No Good Deed was a welcomed distraction during the destructive wildfires in California. Although it has only one season, if you like to laugh, you may find this series fun.

What shows are you enjoying on Netflix or elsewhere? Let’s talk about this and possibly find some shows to explore.
