Day 8 of #30DaysofPH: In Remembrance of a Dear PHriend
Jen Cueva remembers her dear friend Catalina Lomeli, aka Moma Hen. They met in a PH chat group years ago. Through the years, Jen and Catalina built a stronger connection as they had kids the same age and shared the same specialist. Catalina flew to Texas from California to stay with Jen’s family for a year.
Despite the pain of losing such an important presence, Jen is thankful she was able to say goodbye to her friend and that Catalina acknowledged with her eyes that she knew she was there. That day, Moma Hen became Jen’s angel.
“When you’re connected to the pulmonary hypertension (PH) community, the loss of PHriends and PHamily is inevitable. Since I was diagnosed almost 18 years ago, I’ve experienced loss more often than I can count. There’s still no PH cure, so we share our stories to spread awareness and hopefully lead to one.”
Jen, reading about your friendship with Catalina has filled my heart with love.
