    Hi Carol,
    I hope that you enjoyed Thanksgiving with your family.

    Hypercapnia is when there is too much carbon dioxide in the bloodstream. Often, lung disorders can cause this. I thankfully have not had an issue with this unless they did not mention it.

    Were you told that you have hypercapnia? Now that you mention this, I want to check my labs. I know I have had a higher CO2 level in the past, just not told it was hypercapnia.

    I have had this in the past along with long oxygen levels, especially with activity. Usually for me, this has to do with the exchange of gases like oxygen and carbon dioxide being exhaled. It also is increased for me during the early morning hours when I don’t wear my BIPAP. This leads to some symptoms like headaches and nausea. Do you get these symptoms around this time too?
