National Donor Day
Tomorrow, February 14th, is “National Donor Day”.
Let’s discuss how we can spread awareness and education about organ, eye, and tissue donation while promoting “Rare Disease Day” on February 28th.
If you aren’t eligible for a transplant how can you use this reality to spread PH awareness but still encourage people to register as organ donors?

Maybe ask yourself what don’t you know about organ donation. Share with us the questions you have and the thoughts that might be keeping you from registering as a donor.
In a column, “Put your heart, or other organs, into National Donor Day” I touched on few common concerns people have regarding organ donation such as donor ineligibility due to age and/or disease. The truth is more people than not CAN be donors including PH patients, transplant recipients, diabetics, HIV patients, the ‘can’ list goes on.
Don’t allow misconceptions keep you from being a hero.

Excellent column, @colleensteele! You shared some of the various concerns that some have when considering registering as a donor.
I am a registered donor. Some ask why- I said some organ should be helpful to someone.
