Which of your providers stand out in a particularly positive way?
I have been lucky to find specialists I trust. My parents have supported my search to find them. They flew with me across the country 2-3 times a year for several years to meet with a pediatric PH specialist. That doctor saved my life several times. She treated me with respect, even when I was six years old.
From specialist to x-ray tech, medical professionals have the power to make a significant impact in our day-to-day. By meeting us where we are on a human level, they can make our experience a positive one.
A couple months after my transplant I wrote on my personal blog about some PICC nurses who made a big impact by connecting with me and earning my trust.
Please share your stories about doctors, nurses, and other providers who have made a positive impact for you!
