Hey everyone, let’s keep @jenc in our prayers and lift her up with healing thoughts. She not feeling well. Has tested negative for Covid and now she is at the ER getting labs and a chest xray done. Her specialists have also been contacted. I will update when I know more.

Whatever this is Jen, I’m praying you recover quickly and that you can do so from the comforts of home. Love you!

    Dear PHriends,

Please a moment to give our sweet PHriend Jen our support. After a long stay in the ER yesterday they decided to admit her.

Today she did manage a little bit of sleep (you know, as much as one can get in a hospital) and has already been made aware she will be staying another night.

As she put it, “My kidneys and sodium are out of whack,” but they also think she has been fighting an upper respiratory infection. And then of course PH always gets jealous and has to act up too when something else is getting attention.

They are doing labs every 4 hours and keeping a close eye on her. She is hoping that things will be looking better tomorrow so that she can work on getting well again from the comforts of hime.

@jenc said she is ready to be back home and in the forums!

Can’t have Jen out of circulation.  Ending up in the hospital when you have PAH is very unsettling.  You last note indicates she is expecting to be back on line soon.

      All the best for Jen

@ripple76 it’s more that she would love to be back on-line soon but as of last night she was still in the hospital. I have not heard an update today. I know she is hoping labs to show more stability so she can work on recovery from home.

As soon as I hear know more I will post an update.

Hi @ripple76, I was fortunate to have excellent care at UCSD, it was a smooth hospitalization, but it’s never fun and a tad complicated with PH.

I appreciate your support, my PHriend.I’m so excited to be back “in circulation.” Take care of yourself.

Much heartfelt thanks and love to you, my FWW, @colleensteele, for your ongoing support and prayers. Our PHamily here was in excellent hands as they had you daily.

I’m so excited to be back home and back in the forums with y’all. My heart is so full as I read each of your loving words of encouragement while I was in the hospital.

I’m much better; labs are almost back to my baseline. I am a tad more SOB, but then again, I was stuck in a bed for several days. I had viral bronchitis and learned this morning that I was in Afib on my EKG at Urgent Care before being sent to the hospital.

As I get back in gear, I’ll be moving a tad slower this week, especially the first few days.

Hi, there sweet lady, @cdvol3gmail-com. Thank you so much for your heartfelt love and support. I’m so happy to be back home and moving a tad slower.

Manny had a difficult time last week when they kicked him out at 8 PM. He didn’t get much sleep, so we both slept until 10 AM on Saturday and 9 on Sunday. This was unusual for me, so I knew I needed to catch up on my sleep. I have been getting exhausted by about 6 PM, like bedtime ready, LOL.

I’m sending many hugs and love back to you, my PHriend.

Hey there @cdvol3gmail-com; yes, my body is letting me know, so I am listening( at least this week, hehe). But it needs to get in gear after that.

I have been in Afib at times, not in some time. My PH team is having me record my pulse ox daily for a few days to see if this resolves, my HR was 135 yesterday after taking 4-5 steps, But oxygen was 94%. We don’t want to add anything just yet if it resolves after a few days. They are checking in often. Dr. Channick’s NP is the best! I appreciate her greatly.

Thank you for your love and support—cheers to a new week.

Jen, you do have a great team on your side especially Dr Channick! She sounds very special. Sounds like you are chomping at the bit to getting back – cannot keep you down for long! You’re in my thoughts, be well and lets hope by the weekend you might be ready to put toes in the sand hehe! ????❤????

I agree; so fortunate that he and his team wanted to take over my care once I moved to Cali. He cared for me for about 10 years or longer before, so he knows my body well, and we work so well together.

You know it, what do they say? You can’t keep a good woman down? That’s us, LOL. I told Manny that yesterday when he asked why I didn’t wait for him to pick up my RXs, I went to pick them up before he came home.

I was at the beach on Saturday for about 15 minutes, but no toes in the sand yet. That beach air and sunshine was something I craved after being in the hospital.

Take care and thanks again, my PHriend.

Hey everyone, Jen is being discharged today. She might even be home now!

It started as a viral respiratory infection , then low sodium , kidney and PH decided to act up too. I’m guessing she still isn’t feeling her best but at least she can finally return home and get some real rest. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Knowing @jenc we will all probably hear from her on Monday. She misses everyone.

I am moving a tad slower as my heart is racing and experiencing SOB more. But then, I was stuck in a hospital bed for several days with a bed alarm. I’m grateful for each new day- I’m taking one step at a time.

I just read @jen was in the hospital, and I immediately started to pray not paying attention to the date.  By the time I made it through the end of the posts, my prayers were answered and she was on her way home!  Praise God!  I know I’m still kind of new at this forum, but tears came to my eyes when I thought about @jen in the hospital.  This is a special group.  I’m so glad I found you.

So glad your back @jenc.  I have great news!!!  Great news!!!  The lawyer is preparing the papers because I’ve sold my store!  Yay!  The buyer wants to close as soon as possible.   What an answer to prayer.

OMG! @debbie, this news gave me chills this morning as I sip my coffee. I am thrilled that prayers are answered for you and your family. I know it must be bittersweet, but it sounds like it’s time for you to do something that won’t jeopardize your health. Praise God!

Any ideas on your new adventure yet, or will you take some downtime to catch up and allow your body a bit more rest? Thanks so much for sharing such exciting news with us all. We are rejoicing with you, my dear PHriend. Cheers to you, although I am sippin’ coffee, not wine, this morning.

Rest and traveling.  We have a motor home and places we want to see.  Our bodies are fighting us though.  My husband has something wrong with his liver.  The doctors are doing additional tests.  So hopefully we’ll know soon.

Are you feeling better and up to your old self?  I saw the post about books.  Most of the books I read now have been business books – interesting but only if you have a purpose.  I love Christian books set in the new west (think mail order bride – but not).  I haven’t read Frank Peretti in a while, but he catches your attention and makes you think even gives you a little shiver too.  This Present Darkness starts a series.  Very good.  I might have to read it again!

Hi @debbie, I’m sorry to hear that your and your husband’s bodies are not playing nice. I’ll add him to my prayers that it’s nothing serious with his liver and you’ll know more soon.

Your travel plans and resting sounds perfect and just what y’all need. It will come and you’ll both enjoy it.

I am feeling better each day, thank you. But I’m moving slower and a bit more SOB, but that improves as time passes. My pain is better managed and I’m not going bonkers itching all over my body, which helps, too.

Tuesday, I tried to do my leg and arm exercises as before. But barely made it through the leg part and was more SOB. I know it’s because I was in bed doing nothing and only walking a few steps to the bathroom. Each day, I’ll continue to rebuild my strength.

Hi there, @kygon; Is all ok there; I hope you’ve just been busy with life. Please never apologize for being absent. There is life besides PH.

I am so happy to be home. I thought of you on Saturday as I finally could enjoy my hammock a little. Now, I need some great entertaining books to read while out there- any suggestions?

Thanks so much for shining your light and love my way- sending it right back to you.

Oh yay I am glad to hear you got some time in the hammock! Some books I recommend are : Anything by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child that they co-author together the Prendergast series is AMAZING, if you like mysteries anyhow. I think the first in that series is “The Relic” but any of them are good, I started with “Still Life with Crows” and then read a few forward in the series and worked my way back later hahaha. They have a new Gideon series starting with “Gideon’s Sword” I wont lie that one is good, and when I get more time to read I will get into that series more. I also love Jim Butcher’s Harry Dresden series first one is “Storm Front” it is a very fun and fairy tail type read where he is a wizard for hire .. literally so much snark in these books I dare you not to laugh out loud!  I also read some self improvement and stuff too and I recently started reading “Rich Dad Poor Dad” and I am going to start “Making Life Rich” by Phil Callaway when I am done with that oh and my girlfriend is obsessed with a book called “Why Gender Matters” (Science backed information don’t beat me up people) I plan on reading it when she’s done, I guess it has been so eye opening for her to understand her husbands mind in how it works and vice versa why hers is wired a certain way.  I also really want to read “The Fourth Turning” but I haven’t ordered that one yet .. looks pretty interesting though.

You may find Non of these are your cup of tea and no worries! I just love books in general so maybe you can recommend some for Me! (Although I admit I have quite a laundry list of books to read … so it might take me a HOT Minute) hahaha Sending you lots of Hugs and Hammocking Vibes for whatever your reading!

Wow, what a list already, @kygon- I haven’t read any mysteries in some time. I may try one of the titles you suggested. I also enjoy fun reads to emerge myself into another place. I will chill in my hammock.

Since we downsized to the condo last year, I am TRYING not to buy so many books, but I will check my library. It’s across the street, LOL.

Thanks, girl; I hope to hang out and read a little this afternoon before or after dinner. Like you, I also tend to gravitate towards self-help & improvement reads. Post-COVID for attention span and focus is still out of whack, but I do my best to get focused on a good book. I have yet to read an entire book over 250 pages. Any suggestions? Maybe that glass of wine will help- hehe.

Thanks so much, @kgrady69; your positive energy and vibes are felt here in San Diego. It’s never a pleasant hospitalization, but this one was much better than it could have been. My hospitalist was excellent, and he saw me each day. He took the time to listen because he had never seen me since he was a hospitalist only.

When I saw him at discharge, I thanked him but told him I didn’t want to see him again unless it was out at the beach. He said he was not offended at all and agreed. We both had a good laugh.

We need more hospitalists like him.

How are you doing this week? I am sending you hugs, light, and love your way.

Jen, as usual, I’m late to the party, but….. So sorry to realize you were so sick. Being hospitalized is never fun. And honestly, sometimes it’s a wonder that anyone can get well there! You have to be really, REALLY sick to have to survive hospitalization! 😉

Hi @brendad53, never a need to apologize, my PHriend. But, wait, you didn’t miss me all last week? LOL- JK.

So true, it’s never fun and of course, I waited a day longer than I should have to go in, making things worse on our bodies when we finally go. I have to say; that I had exceptional care throughout the week. I had the same hospitalist all week, which helped, and we worked well together.

Thanks for your well wishes- hugs and love are coming back to you.

Hi @terry, you’re too funny! Of course, Manny was right with me until they kicked him out once it was in a room at 8 PM. LOL. I tell you, I can’t get a break with him there, either, hehe. Thanks for your well wishes. How are you and your lovely wife doing lately, Mate?

In response to that puzzle to check if you’re human, it’s a slider action. Try and get the pieces in alignment. I guess from an Ipad it is smaller and if you have large hands could be more of a challenge. I hope this helps and you will get the hang of it sooner. My apologies; we had to increase our site’s security, which is one way to help spammers stay away.

G’Day, Mate, @terry, ahh, I loved a few chiropractic treatments, but some can be brutal. They told me it was because I don’t have a ton of “cushion,” LOL.

    Dear Jen,

Hooray that you are back home!  I’m so glad to hear that.  You know we can’t do without you, so you have to stay healthy – or as healthy as possible.  For the record, I think we both have had enough of doctors for a while!  I’m done with my medical marathon, with no new issues (AMEN!) and you are home to recover from hospitalization.  Please go and stick your toes in the sand  with a cold drink in hand.  Blessings!

Hi @tervo, that’s fantastic news that you are done with your Medical Marathon with no new issues, so thankful to hear that!

Thank you for your positive thoughts and kind words. Y’all certainly make me feel much more important, LOL. I’m just like y’all, trying to do the best I can with the hand I’m dealt. But you’re so kind.

And yes, you and @cdvol3gmail-com usually know, that I enjoy my toes in the sand and a drink in my hand, too funny. I hope to do that this weekend. However, Manny and I had tickets to a comedy show Saturday night that he purchased some weeks ago. That’s going to be date night. So, I hope he still thinks I will have the energy left to get some beach time in.

Cheers to having no new issues; you are done with this lengthy marathon. Enjoy a glass of something this weekend to seal the deal. Hugs all around, too.

I meant to add that for an American Lari the Chiropractor is a pretty good bloke. He emigrated ti Aust. Long time ago. One of my Aunts  married a US Sailor during WW11 and emigrated  to Lower California . Misguided she was.ha. Did you realise that in WW11 we actually fought each other in the battle of Brisbane. US military were paid more , had a better px and were issued with silk stockings and chocolate  to give the local girls so after some unrest the US and Aust. servicemen faced off against each other and had one big brawl in Brisbane.  One dead , hundreds injured. Bloody women.
True story kept secret from overseas.

Hi @terry, thanks for that additional history lesson about your experience with the battle of Brisbane. Chocolate and better pensions, huh? That’s too bad; you all had to endure the struggles with fewer benefits, including the need to fight for the girls.

Hi Jen,  I was on my iMac when I had difficulty proving I was “human”  Hey, maybe it has to do with having PAH,  ha ha,  Things have been well the past few months.  Of course it always a bit nerve wracking when its time for check ups.  I have two big ones in Sept and Oct.  Hugs back to you.

Hi @mainegal, yeah, preparing for important check-ups tends to bring anxieties. Which appointments are you having and when? We want to send you positive thoughts and prayers on that important days.

If you’re on your Mac, look under the bottom of the puzzle piece and use that slider by sliding your finger, it may take a few times to figure it out.

Thanks for sharing, and try to do something that makes you smile today.
