Let’s hear it for the wins! Please fill us in on what has been going right for you lately!

@jen-cueva mentioned that this past weekend was probably my weekly win, and she’s right! Friday-Sunday was Family Day at Cullen’s University. The drive there for me is almost 2 hours there and back, so I decided to treat myself to a hotel. So glad I did!

Cullen is doing great and it was so nice to see him! We participated in some campus activities but also relaxed in the hotel a lot so Cullen could work on some deadlines away from his dorm.

This week has started off with some wins too! Cullen had a lung transplant appointment yesterday, which went well. Today I had a post-op appointment and that went well. My surgical site has healed well.

Tomorrow my parents have labs then Friday appointments with their internist. Fingers crossed they result in more wins!

Woo-hoo, this makes me SO happy to read, @Colleen !

These wins are so well-deserved and much-needed for you, my friend! It sounds like Cullen is doing well adjusting to college life on campus! But I bet he enjoyed time away at the hotel, too. KK would do that when we visited her when she was four hours away from her in college, especially during her first year in the dorms.

What a fantastic blessing to hear about the wins from Cullen’s transplant team and your surgeon! I hope and pray that it continues as you get through the rest of the appointments with your parents this week! Don’t you also have another appointment for yourself on Friday?

My heart is full of joy for you sweet Colleen! 🤗💜😍

@jen-cueva it’s just my parents appointment on Friday unless I’m forgetting something! What are you remembering that I’m not? LOL!

How are you doing, my friend?

Hey @Colleen , Humm, I thought it was either an eye doctor or a dental appointment for you. I’m probably mixed up, LOL.

But, anywho, it is one busy week for you, my PHriend! What are you doing for self-care this week besides your post-surgery appointment? 💜🥊

I’m doing alright this week, thanks. Not a ton of sleep last night, but hopefiully will get a small nap in later this afternoon. 🤗

@jen-cueva I had trouble sleeping last night too! I got on FB and read that you were on and unable to sleep too! I came sooo close to messaging you but thought better of it. We would have started chatting instead of trying to fell asleep. I turned my phone off and eventually fell asleep. Did you? Where you not feeling well or just restless?

Hi @Colleen, I’m sorry you also didn’t sleep well. I did, too. I am happy you slept eventually. I finally slept 4-5 hours, but last night was much better. Thank you!

It was leg spams and pain, nothing much helping. Finally, the cannabis ointment and heating blanket helped me get a little sleep.

Hopefully, you have a wonderful and relaxing weekend, my PHriend!💜

@jen-cueva I just couldn’t get my brain to quiet. I’m sorry to hear you were awake due to pain and spasms! Did you manage sleep over the weekend?

Hi, @Colleen , I’m sorry you were awake and your mind went nonstop. I’ve had those nights, too. Neither is great for us; we all need our beauty rest, right?

I did sleep better the next few nights afterward, thanks. Last night was another night with bad leg cramps, but I finally took all I could and used those other treatments, such as heat and salve, on my legs and feet. That usually helps some, at least enough, to get me to sleep.

You have so much going on. Have you tried reading again at night to get maybe your mind to slow down a bit before bed? How’s this week going for you? 🤗

Hi you two: Just a note that I am at the ‘crisis’ point on my new books. I have been slowly developing the story and it is a positive thing I do. I might even publish it.

    Happy St. Patrick’s Day, PHriends!🍀

How’s everyone doing so far this week?

For weekly wins, Manny and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary last Friday! 🥂👩‍❤️‍👨 I’m incredibly blessed beyond measure, especially because I’ve (we’ve) managed PH for 20 of those years. I wanted to share this weekly win with y’all!

Does anyone else care to share any small victories or weekly wins?

@jen-cueva Happy anniversary to you and Manny! How did you celebrate?

I hope our new members might jump in and take part in our weekly win updates. They can be, but don’t have to be PH related.

Thanks, @Colleen , thank you so much for the anniversary wishes! We kept it low-key this year since I had my infusions Friday afternoon. Manny had planned a Paris-themed Vegas getaway, (on my bucket list)but we decided against it. We also considered Universal Studios, but with my treatments, it didn’t feel like the right time. Along with my iron infusions, I got a low dose of Rituxin for RA/OA, which lowers my immunity—so crowded places weren’t ideal. Plus, after a long infusion session ending at 5 p.m., a four-hour drive to Vegas felt like too much.

I’m not sure if it’s age or just me, but I’ve noticed I’ve become more cautious about things like this in recent years. What about you? Have you felt the same? I might write more about it soon—it’s been on my mind lately.

For our anniversary, we went with takeout from a Japanese steakhouse, and it was so good! We wanted something different, and it hit the spot. By the time my night med alarm went off, I was already crashed on the couch with Manny, cozy in my PJs. Simple but perfect.

@jen-cueva maybe it’s age, or being run down, but how you spent your anniversary sounds perfect to me! The other plans sound nice too but if I had to choose, I would have done what you decided.

Are the infusions helping? What have the side-effects been like? Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Hi, @Colleen , for some reason, I missed this response from you. I’m sorry- but you and me both find that plan OK. But we will save the fun plans for when I am feeling better.

I haven’t noticed much improvement from the ifusions, but next week they will check my labs and see if my iron and blood levels have improved at least. Thanks for asking, unfortunatley, the iron they give me I’ve never felt much of a difference. However, my numbers usually do imorove some.
