Who Is Dressing Up With their O2 For Halloween!?
Posted by Brittany Foster on October 24, 2018 at 11:44 amAfter I decorated my tank for a wedding, I realized that I need to have some fun with it this Halloween! I was thinking of being the blonde witch from Hocus Pocus! My blonde hair is just as long as hers and my complexion is usually just as pale (hahahaha!) . I will be decorating the tank as a broomstick and going to tape the top of a broom to the top part of the oxygen. I’ll get a wood colored wrap from the craft store to wrap around the whole metal part. I try to go to a few houses with my nephew and the rest of the time I help pass out candy at my mom’s with my family!
Are you dressing up for Halloween? What are you going to be and will you decorate the oxygen too? Do you have trick or treaters you go out with or do you help pass out candy?

Brittany, I am sorry that no one answered this topic. I didn’t reply although I did dress up Airreal. She was a little girl. She wore a shirt with a glittery kitten face and a black with gold polka-dot tutu. I also put a very cute and soft pair of bunny slippers on her feet. I drew the face of a young girl with brown hair. She was adorable. I did not dress up. That’s Airreal’s job. Smile.

Melainie,
I love that you dressed up the oxygen ! It must have looked adorable ! I’m sure you had a lot of compliments on her too! I think it’s great when we can have a little “fun” with the oxygen. I am going to a wedding this coming weekend and plan on dressing my larger tank up again too! Are you on social media or instagram? If so, add my account and you will be able to see the pictures ! My account is “ohtheplaceso2willgo”

Anyone dressing up for Halloween, or decorating their oxygen tank? Would love to hear about it or maybe see a picture! I’m just wearing a witches hat this year.

Hey, @Colleen, and Happy Halloween to you and everyone celebrating!
Earlier, we had a call at work with a Halloween theme. I finally decided to steal Manny’s rasta hat with dreads and wore beads and sunglasses. We also played Halloween trivia, which was fun.
A fun fact: Did y’all know the first vegetable used for carving was not pumpkins? But it was turnips. 😲
According to Instacart data, can anyone guess what the #1 top-selling candy for Halloween in the US is?

@Jen C I had planned to join the Halloween work call but my dad decided he wanted to go in the backyard to rake leaves and I couldn’t risk him doing that without me. He is a great fall risk but I encourage activity when he feels up to it.
I did know about the turnip carving but number one candy…hmm…Resses Peanut Butter Cups? Guessing that because it’s one of my favorites.
Mom and I enjoyed Halloween. We both put on witches hats and each trick-or-treater got a treat bag from me and one from her! Ever kid was polite and sweet to my mom which I loved witnessing.
I hate seeing October go, as you know, it’s my favorite month and season!

Hi @Colleen , yeah, I’m sorry you missed the work Halloween call. I know you sometimes worry about your dad raking and moving around in the yard with his instability. Is he using his walker or something to help with walking, raking, etc?
Yes, I was surprised about the turnip carving, too. But yes, you are correct. We aren’t the only ones who enjoy Reese’s PB cups, especially the pumpkins.
I’m happy you and your mom enjoyed seeing the kids and giving them treat bags. Did you have a ton of kids there? How wonderful you could enjoy that with your mom, wearing your witch’s hats! Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, I bet you will not be so excited when the harsh winter there begins. It’s much colder than you were used to in Seattle. How are you preparing for the colder winter?
-
@jen-cueva I make sure my dad uses his walker in the backyard and I keep a close eye on him. I stay near him so I can hopefully rescue him if he starts to fall.
I’ve been thinking about winter and had my parents heater checked and repaired because it was blowing cold air. Between that and the blanket you gave me I’m hopefully all set! How about you?
-
Hi, @Colleen. I’m thankful to know your dad uses his walker when he is out back. Plus, he has you there to ensure he isn’t outside alone. They are so fortunate to have such a unique and loving daughter. 💜
It sounds like you all are prepared whenever winter comes your way. Here in San Diego, our winter months are usually gloomy and have less sunshine. Otherwise, the temps are the lowest in the mornings and evenings. But you know I have a beautiful, cozy, wearable blanket with a hood you gave me. I plan to use it at the beach and whenever I am cold.💙

Dear Jen and Colleen , I wanted to tell you I made it through my October and November Dr. Appts! There is only one thing left, and that is a check with my opthmologist. We head for FL on Tuesday coming. Good news – both my Echo and stress test came back within normal limits. So celebrate with me! and with frost on the ground this AM, I’m ready for FL!

Hi @Terese Tuohey, wow, thanks for sharing such an incredible update and wins this month! Not only did you finish a busy few months, but those updates from your Echo and stress test are blessings! I’m touched that you want to share that phenomenal news with us. 🎉🤗
And did you see I tagged you with your article from PHA about winning with CTEPH? You are doing incredible work with your advocacy efforts. I know your PHriends up there will miss you while in Florida. But I hope you get to meet with, @Sally Hoffman me as you arrive safely in sunny Florida.
It sounds like you picked a great time to leave. Brrr- to the frost on the ground, my PHriend. Safe travels to you and your loving hubby. 💜
