Pulmonary Hypertension News is pleased to announce to offer the “Aware That I’m Rare” podcast series produced by phaware. The podcasts will be a featured column three times a week — Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays — starting April 3.

Older episodes will be offered on those three days for the opening months of the series. Then, with the newest episodes, these columns will run twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays.

The podcasts are filled with the voices of pulmonary hypertension (PH) patients, caregivers, specialists, doctors, nurses and patients with other rare diseases. Its “Awarephaware logo That I’m Rare” podcasts span the experiences of those affected by PH and further cultivate a sense of community, while raising awareness for the illness.

As someone living with PH, phaware’s “Aware That I’m Rare” podcasts are important because they help fill a gap that patients and caregivers often need. Living with a rare disease can make it difficult to find local support groups, or someone who understands what it is like to live with PH. Listening to a real patient’s story helps me feel connected, and as if I am not alone in my struggles.

The phaware series was established by people who know what living with PH means. Its founders consist of patients, caregivers and medical professionals dedicated to advocacy and spreading awareness about PH. The “Aware That I’m Rare” podcasts run between three and 15 minutes long, and include a complete audio transcript. The podcasts feature just the speaker, so all the content comes from the perspective of those affected by PH in their own voices.

To date, phaware has shared over 40 podcasts that have been listened to and downloaded all over the world, including the United States, France, India and South Africa. You can listen to phaware’s podcasts from home or on the go. Download the phaware: “Aware That I’m Rare” podcast mobile app to listen from your smartphone.

Please be sure to check Pulmonary Hypertension News every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to listen to the latest “Aware That I’m Rare” podcast.
