Find Support And Connecting To Other PH Friends Through Social Media
Recently I have created a social media Instagram account. Through this account, I spread awareness about my medical conditions and showcase my life with using oxygen. A young adult using oxygen is not something people see every day. There may be a lot of misconceptions about oxygen users. My social media account for this is a way to break these stereotypes and to let people know that there is more to a diagnosis than the walls of a hospital.
The account that I created, not only is a way to spread much needed awareness and advocacy, but it also is a way to connect with others who have various health conditions. Through it, I receive support and understanding. It is a great way to interact with others who I never would be able to interact with if it weren’t for social media.
Something that really drives me and makes me want to push through the difficult days is when people comment on the ways in which I am “inspiring” to them or someone they can look up to. My hopes is that through sharing pictures, realities of chronic illness, and showcasing the good and the bad, it will help others remain positive through trying times.
Do you have a social media account? Do you feel that social media helps you cope with your chronic illness and connects you to others? If so, I would love to follow your Instagram and health journey ! Share your accounts here 🙂 Mine can be searched for on Instagram under the username “ohtheplaceso2willgo” . Would love to have you all follow my page to get a look into my life.
