In this TedXTalks video shared in December 2012, American-born soprano singer Charity Tillemann-Dick talks about being diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension and undergoing two double lung transplants.

The 33-year-old from Denver, Colorado explains that she was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary hypertension in 2004 and underwent her first double lung transplant in 2009. Sadly, her body rejected the lungs and she had a second double lung transplant in 2012. Tillemann-Dick talks candidly about how death has touched her family, and how people are reluctant to talk about death.
